Events were planned from Thursday 5 June through to Saturday 7 June 2025 for the Class of 1995 thirty year reunion. The Thursday function proved to be a fantastic evening of reminiscing with thirty two classmates of the 1995 year, many still struggling to come to terms with the fact that it has been thirty years since we left the College. We were joined by classmates from as far as the United States, Australia, Switzerland and the UAE who gathered to relive some of the best days of our lives. What an evening it was.
The OJA, together with the College, arranged a tour of the campus prior to drinks on the Thursday, which offered a wonderful opportunity to walk through the buildings we remember so well, to reminisce as we passed the sports team photographs of our era, and to appreciate how far the College has come in the past thirty years. The new Prep School buildings, the Aquatic Centre and the Rene England Centre were particular highlights.
Friday 6 June saw wives and partners join us for the annual OJA Dinner. It was another lovely evening, one that again continued into the early hours as we took the opportunity to reconnect with classmates, some of whom had not seen one another in the full thirty years.
Saturday 7 June was Gaudy Day which, although in a different format to what most OJs are accustomed to, provided yet another invaluable opportunity for classmates to gather and reconnect.
It was a wonderful three days spent together and a fantastic chance to refresh old relationships and to remember the incredible grounding that St Johns College provided for us. It was also an opportunity to highlight the potential to give back to SJC and to support initiatives such as the Luke Potter Scholarship, established in honour of a much loved classmate of the Class of 1995.
