The Hong Kong event, hosted by Tina Playne (Clarke 1986), Chairperson of Council, on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, highlighted the importance of the Old Johannian Association network, particularly for OJs enrolling at the Hong Kong City University to further their studies. Strong connections, shared experiences, and ongoing support make a real difference.
The gathering in Hong Kong brought together Old Johannians from across generations. The event highlighted the importance of raising awareness and appreciation for the City University scholarships. Hong Kong is a remarkable city with world class universities, offering outstanding opportunities to our Old Johannians.
Thank you to everyone who attended and for the warm appreciation shown for hosting this event. It is encouraging to see such meaningful connections forming, with the clear intention of engagement and mutual support across the OJ community.
A special thank you to Adam Gear (Custos| Thomson 2021) for offering to help coordinate the Hong Kong WhatsApp group to keep our community connected.
