1988 - 30th Reunion

1988 – 30 Year Reunion

The Class of 1988 gathered for their 30-year reunion over the Gaudy Day weekend in July. The main event took place on the Thursday evening (5 July 2018) when we commandeered the Boars Head pub for an evening of informal drinks, banter and a good bunch of laughs as we reminisced fondly of our time at St John’s College and caught up on the whereabouts of our school mates. The class was also privileged to be joined by a strong contingent of our teachers of the time which included Mr Edey and a throng of St John’s College teaching stalwarts.

On Friday, the class occupied three tables at the Annual Old Johannian Dinner and enjoyed catching up with a broad cross section of Old Johannians.  To round out the reunion events, a number of the class attended Gaudy Day on Saturday which was a great opportunity to appreciate the school and recall the memories of our years in the College.

Craig Quiding was the organiser-in-chief, and through the informal drinks, the OJ Dinner, and two satellite reunions organised in the UK, he was able to ensure that just shy of 50% of the class were able to attend one or more of the functions. Per what is becoming a very palatable tradition, Rob Bottega once again provided each reunion attendee with a commemorative bottle of Idiom wine with attending classmates listed on the label.

It was a great weekend thoroughly enjoyed by the Class of 1988.
