The OJA is focused on creating a platform through which OJs can get together, reconnect, and network on a business level. We aim to create regular events that will allow OJs from similar or different industries to come together. These events have no fundraising element and are purely networking functions. The last 14 events since our launch in October 2013 were a great success.
Victor Sekese, Chief Executive of SizweNtsalubaGobodo (SNG) was our 15th Eminent Speaker at the Eminent Speaker Breakfast Series. SNG is the largest black owned audit and advisory firm in Southern Africa.
Mr. Sekese shared his reflections on the state of the Audit profession, particularly given the recent corporate scandals. In addition, Mr. Sekese talked about the evolution of SNG through its recent integration with Grant Thornton International Limited. By becoming a member firm of Grant Thornton International SNG aims to extend its global reach and capacity. Grant Thornton member firms operate in over 135 countries around the world, with 50,000 people generating combined global revenues USD5 billion.
