13th Breakfast Event

13th OJA Eminent Speaker Breakfast Event with Ms. Nonkululeko Gobodo

Guest speaker: Ms. Nonkululeko Gobodo (CEO of Nkululeko Leadership Consulting)

The OJA is focused on creating a platform through which OJs can get together, reconnect, and network on a business level.  We aim to create regular events that will allow OJs from similar or different industries to come together.  These events have no fundraising element and are purely networking functions. The last 12 events since our launch in October 2013 were a great success.

Background on the speaker:

Ms. Gobodo is the former Chairman and Founder member of SizweNtsalubaGobodo, the largest black audit and accounting firm and the fifth largest in South Africa. Nonkululeko is the first black African woman chartered accountant in South Africa.  She is a founder of Gobodo Inc., a medium sized black accounting firm which she established in 1996 with a group of other partners.

OJA feedback:

We asked Ms Nonkululeko Gobodo (CEO of Nkululeko Leadership Consulting and Chairman of Mpumelelo Ventures) to speak about her experiences in the South African work environment both as a leader and as a black entrepreneur in a post-apartheid work market. She also spoke about Leadership, whilst touching on current political and leadership issues which make up much of South Africa’s current newspaper headlines.

What stood out in her speech, and especially in the dialogue session afterwards, is that Ms. Gobodo is a highly intelligent, charming and humorous leader.  She charmed the crowd with her positive attitude and gave us all some insight into what she has been through and what her opinions are on the day-to-day happenings in South Africa.

We thank Ms. Gobodo for graciously giving of her time to engage with our Old Johannians.

We encourage all Old Johannians to join us at these breakfasts, if you would like to be invited please can you send an email to info@oja.co.za.
